About Pete McAra

Pete was born and raised in Victoria, BC, and has always been happiest outdoors. He began his arboriculture career in 2002 as a grounds person at Mt. View Tree Service (acquired by Bartlett Tree Experts in 2004). In 2007, he earned a diploma in Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology from Camosun College, but his passion for working with trees led him back to Bartlett. Pete has served as an Arborist Climber, Boom Truck Operator, Crew Foreman, Plant Health Care Specialist, and Field Consulting Arborist. His versatile skill set and experience with the cultural challenges of Pacific Northwest trees are valuable assets.
An ISA Certified Arborist since 2012, who is also Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) (2021), Pete enjoys the challenges of being an Associate Consulting Arborist. In 2025, he achieved the BC Parks Wildlife Dangerous Tree Assessor Certification through the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). He helps clients maintain the health of their trees and shrubs and achieve their goals for their properties.
In his free time, Pete can be found on a local slo-pitch diamond, hiking in the mountains or enjoying one of the island's vast trail networks.
