Our PHC specialists spent time training with Bartlett’s Trevor Glynn, Regional Lab Extension Specialist, focusing on Root Invigoration for a mature oak grove. The team walked through the process, including soil decompaction with an air spade, targeted soil amendments like biochar, gypsum and liquid nitrogen (careful soil mixing to improve structure and nutrient availability). Organic mulch is added to support root health followed by liquid fertilization to restore moisture and enhance uptake.

Meet Doug Van Ek, the Local Office Safety Coordinator for Victoria. Doug has been with Bartlett since 2021 and recently celebrated his five-year anniversary. You may see him on your property completing crew safety inspections and checking in with our production teams. His focus is simple and important helping ensure our arborists perform their work safely every day while delivering high-quality tree and shrub care.

We're teaming up with the Oak Bay Castaway Wanderers Youth Rugby for a charity Christmas tree chipping event at Windsor Park. Bring your tree by donation and support youth sport in our community. Dates: Jan 1, 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Look for us near the rose garden on Currie Road.
