Growing up in Marstons Mills, Steve developed a deep interest in Cape Cod's unique plant life. His passion for trees led Steve to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he studied arboriculture at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. While serving as assistant lab technician at UMass' Urban Forestry Laboratory, Steve cultivated an encyclopedic knowledge for the diagnostics of plant insects and diseases. Spending his college summers back on Cape Cod, Steve put his studies to practice for Bartlett Tree Experts as an Integrated Pest Management technician. In 1995, he collaborated on New England Management Recommendations for Insects, Diseases and Weeds of Shade Trees and Woody Ornamentals, a comprehensive go-to guide for arboriculture in New England. After studying at Amherst, Steve came back to Bartlett as an Arborist Representative. He is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture and the Massachusetts Arborist Association. Steve is now office manager on Cape Cod, and is still passionate about caring for the Cape's beautiful landscapes.
