Michael received his bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in environmental science and his master’s degree from New Mexico State University in agriculture. Michael embarked on a service-minded career that focuses on mitigating human impacts to the natural environment. He began as a Peace Corps Environmental Officer at St. Kitts/Nevis, and later as an Environmental Scientist at NASA. After a long career in tree preservation managing the Community Tree Preservation Division at the City of Austin, he decided to set new goals and joined Bartlett Tree Experts as an Arborist Representative.
His thoughtful guidance brings a high level of arboriculture expertise while providing real-world value for his clients; a continuous approach personified as “Caring for People Who Care for Their Trees.”
In his spare time, Michael is the volunteer President at Austin’s Ten Thousand Villages retail store, promoting artists’ products and customs from around the world while endorsing fair trade practices. Michael provides philanthropic efforts to local organizations such as CARITAS, We Are Blood, Preservation Austin, KUT Radio, Paramount Theatre, and the Regional Science Fair.
