John has a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University. He worked as a Procurement Forester until joining Bartlett Tree Experts in 1991. John was an Arborist Climber and Plant Healthcare Specialist prior to becoming an Arborist Representative.

John is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, and Texas Department of Agriculture Certified Applicator. He has been caring for trees for more than 30 years in some of the oldest neighborhoods in San Antonio.

In his free time, John enjoys sports, spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing. Ask him how he successfully hiked the Appalachian Trail as a young man! Or about his favorite tree, the live oak.
