A native of Fort Worth, Gareth holds two degrees from Texas A&M University including a Masters in arboriculture. Joining Bartlett in 2005 as a plant health care specialist and tree worker, Gareth then became an arborist representative. He also became the local office manager. He currently manages the Southlake office, servicing Tarrant, Parker and Denton County.
Gareth is extremely active in the community, serving on the Cross Timbers Urban Forestry Council executive board. Currently he is council president. He also served on the City of Irving Tree Advisory Board. Volunteering, he teaches Citizen Forester classes, the International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist test prep course, the tree climbing lab for Tarrant County College’s arboriculture class and gives many tree-related lectures at BRIT. Gareth frequently volunteers his time and expertise to projects in the Near Southside District as well as an urban farming/community garden development in a “food desert” on Fort Worth’s east side.
A big proponent of the Bartlett Seedling Initiative, Gareth gives away hundreds of saplings at various community events each year. Gareth has been an ISA Certified Arborist since 2005, an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) since 2011, and has been ISA Tree Risk Assessor Qualified since 2012.
He and his wife have a toddler son who keeps them busy. They are avid travelers, foodies, and outdoor enthusiasts.
