Evan received his Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois, is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), and is an active member in the Illinois Arborist Association(IAA).

Evan lives in Arlington Heights, Il with his wife and two daughters, with whom he loves to take on nature hikes.
