Bartlett Tree Experts helps Treecycle in Philadelphia

Bala Cynwyd, PA – Earlier this month, Bartlett Tree Experts helped give discarded holiday trees new life as part of Treecycling in Philadelphia. The event, with sponsorship by Bartlett, included volunteer groups recycling over 1,700 trees.

During Treecycling, volunteers from Bartlett arrived with chippers at Logan Square, University City, Chestnut Hill, Kensington, and Passyunk Square. Arborists John Studdy and Justin Wilson were on site along with Carlos Colon, Mike Sanchez, Virgilio Perez, Rob Bertanzetti, Paul Schmeltzer and David Jones. Despite the cold, the crew kept busy, transforming holiday trees into much needed mulch for local parks and gardens.

“Without a program like Treecycling, these trees would end up in a landfill,” said Arborist Representative John Studdy from the Bartlett Tree Experts office in Bala Cynwyd. “Participating means we can help in a way that is meaningful to our community and the environment.”
