Managing common spring pests in the Okanagan
As spring growth begins, pests such as aphids, codling moth, and cherry fruit fly become active on trees and shrubs. These insects feed on new foliage and developing fruit, which can lead to leaf distortion, reduced vigour, and crop damage. Early monitoring and timely tree care treatments help manage populations and protect overall plant health through the growing season.

Critical care for trees
Now is a critical time of year to prepare your trees and shrubs for the coming summer. Healthy trees and shrubs are better able to withstand the higher temperatures and weather extremes that summer brings. Proper care in spring can help ensure the health of your landscape plants.

Aphids and your trees: What you need to know this season
Aphids are tiny insects that feed on plant sap, often causing curling leaves, yellowing, or sticky residue known as honeydew. Left untreated, they can stress your trees and attract other pests. This time of year, aphid populations can rise quickly, especially on maples, lindens, and fruit trees. Your local Bartlett Arborist can assess the situation and recommend tailored treatments to protect your trees and shrubs from long-term damage.
