Can slime flux or wetwood kill a tree?

Can slime flux or wetwood kill a tree?

Typically not. These are weak pathogens that take advantage of an already weakened tree. It would be best to improve plant vigor through proper cultural practices such as mulching, soil care and fertilization (if need be), pruning of dead branches, etc. Plant health care may be necessary if the plant has another issue.
