Will pruning help my redbud produce more flowers next spring?

Pruning the redbud may help improve flowering of a redbud, however, there are several reasons a redbud may not be flowering. Possible causes include shading and over-fertilization. Other causes include poor health caused by buried root collars or other factors. Without evaluating the tree onsite it is difficult to give a full recommendation.
