Are bore holes and bark splits in my mulberry caused by termites?
Have you "Pollarded" your Mulberry annually to maintain the size? Do you know approximately how old your tree is? Pollarding, although an acceptable practice, can lead to decay from excessive wounding. Wood boring insects (including termites) are often secondary problems. We can apply preventative treatments for the pests however we are not licensed termite company. The amount of decay could have a bearing on the structural stability of the stem or branches. If there is a valuable target under or near the tree, removal may be recommended.
