Fire ants are a very common problem that can be unpleasant, and even dangerous. Depending on the level of infestation, a variety of treatments exist to reduce fire ant populations.

When mounds are present in key areas of high activity, an individual treatment is ideal. However, in areas with multiple mounds, broadcast baits can provide long-term control and eliminate developing mounds that may not be obvious. Treatments can start eliminating fire ants in 24 hours and suppress mounds in only three days.

Home remedies are available, but are typically less effective – and less safe. Too often, a home remedy will fail to kill the entire colony, leaving the property susceptible to further infestations.
