Peter grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania where he developed an early interest in the outdoors. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from the University of Rhode Island, giving him comprehensive knowledge in the science of tree care. Peter founded and operated a successful landscaping company shortly after college before merging his talents with Bartlett Tree Experts in 1990. Starting as an arborist representative, he later managed the Cape Cod office for ten years before running his own Bartlett office on Nantucket. He has been caring for the island's trees for over eighteen years and is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture. Peter volunteers in his spare time at Our Island Home and at Nantucket Cottage Hospital. He is the founder of Nantucket Peaceworks, an organization that helps spread mindfulness and compassion throughout the island.
