Luke Hailey is the Diagnostician & Research Technician at the UK Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory. He graduated from Reading University in 2012 with a First Class Honours BSc Degree in Biological Sciences, which included a year’s placement studying wood micromorphology at The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He has also published multiple scientific papers and trade articles.
With his colleagues at the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory, he helps to run field trials, as well as performing entomology, microbiology, and DNA analyses. His current work involves the developing novel, environmentally friendly treatments for controlling tree diseases and disorders, and the Arborcheck tree stress detection system.
His current doctoral studies are exploring the potential of biological and organic treatments for the integrated control of Honey Fungus.
