James Hopper, Arborist Representative at Bartlett Tree Experts, works out of our Cleveland, OH office.
More about James Hopper
James began his career in tree work in late 1998. He was brought on as a young man to drag and chip brush for a regional tree company to prune vegetation away from utility lines. Shortly after James was accepted into the University of Southern Indiana, graduating with a bachelors degree in political science. However, having worked full time in the tree industry throughout his college tenure, a passion was found! During this time James was introduced to the residential sector and the formal science of Arboriculture. He has continued to nurture and grow his knowledge base of all aspects of tree care. His favorite part of Arboriculture is working with fellow members, the camaraderie that develops, and a job well done. James has been an ISA Certified Arborist (IN-3246A) since 2007 and has remained engaged in the ISA's practices in standards and safety ever since. He is appreciative for the opportunity and excited about the prospect of assisting you with your tree care needs!
What Our Customers Are Saying About James Hopper
Very professional and checked to make sure I was satisfied with the work as it progressed. Everything turned out well. Did a very nice job of cleaning up as well.
Bob R., Aurora, OH
Great crew from the top down. James Hopper explained the procedure thoroughly and the crew was great during the execution of the plan. James came back out to oversee what was actually being done and recommended more in depth service in several areas, which was performed by the crew. I could not be happier.

This past Friday the dangerous trees were professionally removed by a Bartlett tree crew. But not just any crew, and I have seen a few crews over the years. Leader James Hopper deserved detailed mention. Obviously he is a competent, experienced, and smart arborist. What stands out to me is his skilled leadership, and his problem-solving. The results? An organized, coordinated, safe crew. He is even glad to take suggestions from the crew. And for a problem solving exercise, he took a difficult felling made tougher by a no win situation for me with a difficult neighbor, and with a new fence thrown in for extra difficulty found a way to make the job work. Brodie, Chris, and Patrick were all 100% on-the-job as well. I stayed out of the way, but still snuck a few peeks, this was a fun project to watch.
