More about Jacob Jensen
Jacob Jensen began his career in arboriculture in 2021. He developed a passion and interest in ornamental trees and shrubs while working as a Plant Healthcare Specialist at an organic property management company in New York State. Jacob joined Bartlett Tree Experts in 2023.
Since then, Jacob has held the roles of Arborist Groundperson and Plant Healt Care Specialist within Bartlett Tree Experts. He has extensive knowledge of insect and disease pests, tree and shrub planting, and tree and shrub pruning and removal. Jacob has a bachelor’s degree in forest resources management from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF), as well as an associate's degree in Forest Technology from the SUNY ESF Ranger School. These degrees give Jacob an understanding of the beauty and complexity of the living and non-living elements in the environment that influence the growth and development of trees and shrubs.
A New York State Certified Pesticide Technician, Jacob strives to take a holistic approach to plant health care by looking at the entire tree as a living being that is influenced by its immediate environment, trying to address the “root” causes of plant health care issues.
In his spare time, Jacob likes to fish on the North Fork of Long Island, rescue wildlife as a volunteer with Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center, and monitor Long Islands endangered and threatened shorebirds as a shorebird steward with the North Fork Audubon Society.
