D.W. is a native Virginian, born and raised in Portsmouth. His love for the outdoors, and interest in sustainable forestry, led him to Virginia Tech where he earned a degree in Forestry Resource Management. During college, D.W. was awarded the Phi Kappa Tau Scott Chatham Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding leadership, philanthropy, and brotherhood. D.W. also completed a two-year internship with Bartlett Tree Experts in Williamsburg that gave him valuable hands-on experience in soil care, pest management and tree pruning. After graduating in 2019, D.W. accepted a full-time position with Bartlett in Chesapeake. He was a Plant Health Care Specialist prior to becoming an Arborist Representative.
An ISA Certified Arborist, D.W. is also a licensed Commercial Pesticide Applicator. He enjoys providing sound tree and shrub care recommendations that help clients maintain their properties. He serves the Portsmouth, Suffolk, Smithfield, Carrollton, and Franklin areas.
In his free time, D.W. enjoys outdoor activities with his wife, Kate. Hunting, fishing, and gardening are a few of their favorites. They also enjoy neighborhood walks with their dogs, and cat too. D.W. is a loyal Hokie football and basketball fan.
