Andrew's interests focus on woody plant health management, where he currently has research projects in multiple states with government, academic, and non-profit research collaborators. Andrew is based out of Fort Worth, Texas at the Botanic Research Institute of Texas/Fort Worth Botanic Garden where he is a Resident Research Associate. In addition to his research, Andrew provides technical support to Bartlett arborists in Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, and Texas.
The large geographical spread in Bartlett Tree Experts' southwestern region means a greater diversity of plants and respective plant problems. This creates opportunities to fine-tune tree and shrub best management practices in the region. Andrew is primarily interested in the biology and management of new and destructive diseases of woody plants. In addition, his current research efforts also cover general arboriculture, soil microbiology, and taxonomy/biology of wood decay in living trees. Andrew is involved with the American Phytopathological Society, Mycological Society of America, and the International Society of Arboriculture.
