Originally from Mansfield, Illinois, Alec grew up playing football, working for local farmers, and spending summers working for the Champaign County Forest Preserve District. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Agricultural Science, and a minor in Urban Forestry, in 2011. While attending WIU, he worked as a field data collector for the Morton Arboretum’s 2010 Regional Tree Census, as well as student assistant to WIU’s campus arborist. After graduation, Alec relocated to the Chicago area to begin his career in arboriculture. An ISA Certified Arborist, he joined Bartlett Tree Experts in 2014 and held positions as a Plant Health Care Specialist and Arborist Representative in our Austin, Texas and Mesa, Arizona offices.
Alec returned to the Chicago area in 2019 and rejoined Bartlett Tree Experts in 2021. He is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, and an active ISA and IAA member.
He is an avid Chicago sports fan and frequently attends White Sox games. In his spare time, Alec enjoys playing his bass guitar, fishing, and spending time with his senior Australian cattle dog, Django.
