We planted a Monterrey Oak tree last year. It has split bark over a large part of the trunk and all the way to the ground. Some areas are deep and look like rot. We know that it had a fungal disease from too much water last summer. What could be the cause and how do we treat it?

It is difficult to make a determination on what caused this problem without seeing the tree first. It could be anything from borers to sun scald. We would be happy to come out to have a look. You can click here to schedule an appointment.
