I have a young Japanese red maple that appears to have what looks like small white/tan spots scattered on the leaves. Otherwise it looks healthy. I have not been able to discover just what this is and if it needs treatment.
These spots that are on the leaves are more than likely a type of leafspot fungus. When there is quite a bit of cool, rainy weather, leafspot disease thrives. Depending on the severity of the disease, it may need treatment. Make an appointment to have a certified arborist come to your location.
