Our At-Large Scholarship Program

Bartlett Tree Foundation

In addition to scholarships provided at participating schools, the Bartlett Tree Foundation also offers at-large scholarships for students in arboriculture / urban forestry who have a genuine interest in a career in arboriculture. These scholarships are available to students at Foundation-supported schools as well as other two- and four-year colleges and universities that have programs in horticulture, arboriculture or urban forestry.

Having an at-large scholarship program allows the Foundation to assist new programs outside of our currently supported schools, while also providing the opportunity for existing Foundation schools to assist additional deserving students in their academic pursuits.

In the 1980s, the focus of arboriculture began shifting more and more into the technical environment of the laboratory. This change emphasized the need for a foundation to support students entering the profession at both two-year and four-year colleges and universities. The goal was to help provide them with financial assistance for the technical expertise they would need as they progressed in their careers in horticulture, forestry, arboriculture, and related disciplines.

Thus, the Bartlett Tree Foundation was founded by Bartlett Tree Experts to advance the science of arboriculture through mentoring and support of future arborists and arboricultural courses of study. Visit the Bartlett Tree Foundation's web site for more information.
