Dutch Elm Disease
First described in Holland in 1921. Since then the disease has spread throughout Europe, parts of Asia and most of the temperate zones in N.America. DED, (Ophiostoma ulmi), is a destructive tree disease affecting European and American elms. The disease can kill branches and entire trees within weeks.
